This may seem obvious to New Yorkers but for those from out of town or just got here and keep hearing the term "Subway Series".
It refers to traveling back and forth on the subway to watch the New York Mets play against the New York Yankees.

No Need To Go To The Suburbs

In the mood to go shopping at Daffy's, Old Navy or JC Penny? What about Big Kmart, PC Richards or Marshall's?
How about getting some food at Panera Bread, or checking out a film at the AMC multiplex?
Feel like working out at the same place, like Bally's Total Fitness?

You can find all of that in....The Bronx!

Yep, Bay Plaza in Co-op City to be exact. Co-op City is nestled in the Baychester section of the northeast Bronx. On July 21, 1989, Bay Plaza officially opened as a $65 million 395,000 square foot shopping center.

The easiest and most convenient way to get there from Manhattan is the MTA Express Bus (BxM7) that heads to Co-op City and get off the second stop in The Bronx. So, when you're done shopping, you can schlep all your bags back on the bus to head back.

And with Pier 1 opening up in the winter, there's no reason to leave NYC!

 Answer: Grand Lodge of Masons on E. 23rd Street. The set-up for all of the rooms I saw that day are all the same. Each room is extremely decorated with a theme. Tours are given every weekday.

That was the message in front of the flagship Apple store on 5th Avenue. I thought it was a touching tribute nothing grandiose. Just a couple of Post-it messages and Apples.

The "iThank You - Will Continue to Think Differently" was my little Thanks for the Memories!

A New Type of Walker

There used to be a saying that there are two different types of walkers in New York: people who live here and tourists.  

In the past couple of years another type was added: people who text.
   
Well over the Columbus weekend, I discovered another one: people who are engaged reading their book, holding a cigarette and walking in a straight line.

These are Cherry Blossom Trees in Central Park. This is a great representation of New York.
